FMERA Selects Security Guard Service to Patrol Property

The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) this month selected Marion Security Agency, of Red Bank, to provide security guard services to the Fort. The selection marks the latest step in the transition of the property from the U.S. Army to FMERA following the conveyance of the property in November.

Marion Security Agency will initially provide 24-hour-a-day security guard services for three months, followed by an additional nine months on a schedule to be determined. The Authority also reserved the right to extend the terms of the engagement for up to an additional 12 months. The Marion guards will staff the Main Gate and patrol the property.  Marion’s duties will supplement the ongoing patrols carried out by the Oceanport and Eatontown Police Departments, along with the County’s placement of a security camera system which provides video documentation of questionable activity.  In addition, the New Jersey State Police maintains a barrack on Fort Monmouth’s Main Post.

Marion Security Agency was chosen following FMERA’s issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) in December.

Note: FMERA Board action is subject to a ten (10) day veto period by the Governor.
